Errol White Company seeks to be an articulate and committed ensemble, producing unique dance works of high quality, with emphasis on authentic movement vocabulary and how the vocabulary of the body can be used as an abstract language.
Artistic Director Errol White
A teacher and dancer with over 20 years’ experience, including five years as rehearsal director with Scottish Dance Theatre, Errol is in-demand as a guest lecturer in dance colleges and other educational settings throughout the UK, teaching the next generation of contemporary dancers; he also leads residencies and classes for professional dance companies.
Errol is a previous recipient of the Dance Europe magazine’s Critics Award for Best Male Performer, the Marion North Mentoring Award for Choreography, the Lisa Ullman Travelling Scholarship Award and, more recently, Errol was appointed the Artistic Director of National Youth Dance Wales.
Errol trained at the Northern Contemporary Dance School and has performed with some of the UK’s best known contemporary dance companies including Phoenix Dance Company, Scottish Dance Theatre, Random Dance Company and National Dance Company of Wales. He has also performed internationally for many years, working alongside a number of distinguished directors and choreographers (including Rui Horta, Bill T Jones, Kenneth Kvarnstrom, Darshan Singh Buller, Fin Walker and Janet Smith). Most recently, he worked with the Scottish Ballet’s Ashley Page (Paisley Patter, Off Kilter Productions).
Creative Director Davina Givan
A highly-experienced and articulate performer/dancer, Davina has performed extensively throughout the UK and abroad, including tours with Richard Alston Dance Company, Phoenix Dance Theatre, Scottish Dance Theatre. Most recently she worked with the Scottish Ballet’s Ashley Page (Paisley Patter, Off Kilter Productions).
She has worked with numerous, internationally-renowned choreographers and danced original roles for Richard Alston, Darshan Singh Buller, Janet Smith, Henri Oguike, Pit Fong Lo and Jan De Shenkle.
During her career, Davina has received numerous awards, including the Critics Award by Dance Europe Magazine (best female performer), The Mitchel Dance Award and a nomination for the highly-prized, Outstanding Young Artist category in the Critics Circle Dance Awards (2002) and more recently, Davina was appointed the Creative Director of National Youth Dance Wales.
